Gabriel, I am married to one of Tirzo GRANILLO's great grandchildren so she is probably your second cousin. My wife's grandparents were Lucio GRANILLO and Maria de los Angeles SALCIDO they are both buried in Anahuac. His death record show his parents as Tirzo GRANILLO and Guadalupe MIRAMONTES.My wife and I believe that Tirzo Granillo's parents are Genovovo GRANILLO and Patricia BORUNDA from speaking with other family members.
I have on file at a local Mormon Church the Civil Registation records of Carretas and Santa Isabel but have not had time to study them in depth yet.I also have the 1930 Mexican Census for those two areas (they record an astonishing number of people with the surname Granillo!).I know San Javiar de Laborcita is where they lived at one time but am not sure if this is part of Carretas or Santa Isabel or part of Cuauhtemoc for the purposes of Census, Civil Registration on Church Parish records.Lucio Granillo left La Laborcita in the early 1930's and must have been one of the first settlers or occupents of Anahuac.
Is you grandfather Jose GRANILLO who married Romona SOLIS?If so I suspect you have not had luck finding his birth certifciate?Do you know where he is buried since a death certificate might hold information of interest to you.Jose and Lucio should be brothers and I wonder if there are other brothers and sisters especially younger ones who might have been captured in the Civil Registration records.
Do you happen to know it there is a Catholic Church or Presidencia in Laborcita?Or is it so small that it belongs to a larger jurisdicion? If you wish to reach me outside this forum please use the e-mail show with the posting for me.We are located in North Texas.
Best Regards, Daniel
