Thanks for the response, and certainly no aopolgy necessary.This is supposed to be FUN!
Since questioning your posting I, unfortunately, have come to the conclusion that I am not related (directly) to the George Gravitt who married Catherine McCartie/McCarty, unless my ancestor was George's brother.
I have been to the homesite of my Thomas Gravitt in Grant County (who I believe was the son of another George S. Gravitt who went by the name of Samuel Gravitt and married Sarah (Sally) Page in Franklin County in 1804.) I have Thomas's tombstone in my possesion, rescued from a barn on the property where it has lain since before the current owners bought the property over 30 years ago.
I will put together what I feel is my line, and send it to you in the near future.I sure wish I was a part of the George/Catherine line, because it is fairly well documented.
