Hi Tami.
You grandfather Edward Gray and my grandmother Geraldine (Gray) Berg were brother and sister. Guess that would make us cousins a few times removed.
Their grandparents, Orrin J Gray (I) and Sara Jane (Dutton)Gray, had 14 kids for sure. I came across an old newspaper article at the library that said "Child #14 was born to Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Gray of this city." The ones I know names for are Ann, George, Frank, Minnie, Wilbur, Albert, Orrin (II), Robert, Katie, Sallie, and Marion (Mamie). I guess 11 out of 14 isn't too bad. It seems that most of the family left central Wisconsin, with the exception of our great-grandfather Orrin (II).
Albert was a very interesting man. He traveled to the Yukon during the gold rush days and there were several articles in the newspaper about him back in the late 1800's. On at least one trip, his father Orrin (I) and his brother Orrin (II) went along. Albert did marry a woman in California but it seems all the census records I found had him living in Alaska making a living as a mine owner or miner.
Orrin (I) died in Missouri and his wife Sara died in Snohomish, Washington. According to census records, some of her kids were also with her in Washington.
I guess any information on Orrin and Sara's kids, such as death dates, places, their kids names, spouses names, etc. would be an addition to my family tree.
Since Orrin (II) would be your great-grandfather, would you have any information on his wife Anna Hillmer's side of the family.
Your cousin, Tammy
