I am looking for a needle in a haystack.
My Grandfather Chelmer John Gray was born in Dumbarton Scotland c 1860, married a Grace (may be middle name) Anstry c 1895, had a son on 21 January 1896 before being killed in a bridge accident. He was a Gentleman & Engineer. Scottspeople have no record of my Father or Grandfather. Grace remarried and moved to Galverston, Texas with we think a Mr Peterson to whom she had a daughter and a son. Her daughter married and moved to Melbourne, Australia to live. At age 14 my Father run away from home by stowing away on a ship to Canada. In Canada he married but the marriage did not last. In 1915 he moved to Sydney Australia and in 1916 Joined the Black Watch landing in Le Havre in June. Wounded in December 1916 and returned home to recover. Returned to the Palistine front in time for the 3rd battle of Gaza with 14th Batallion then in 1918 returned to France with the 74 Division until early 1919. This is all verbal and no trace exist of him before 1919 in Australia. In 1925 he received information that his first wife died in a car accident in Canada on 5th February 1925.
Can anyone held.
