William Gratriex England 1861

Leave it to my Grandfather to put a fly in the ointment. He was born in England not sure were in 1861. Came to the United States in the 1880's. He removed some letters from the name (change the name in some way). He died when my father was only 3 years old 1906. His name was William Gratriex. He was a bronze worker. The closest thing that I found was a Christening for a William Greatorex 15 Dec. 1861 Baldesby, Yorkshire, England. His Father John Low Greatorex and his Mother Sarah Elisabeth. I have no way to confirm this as being him or not. I do have a picture of my Grandfather when he was a young man in his 20,s.
If I can get some help with this it would be greatly appreciated.
