My Greatorex family was also from Blyth and I would love to hear from you if there is any connection.

My great great great grandfather Christopher Greatorex, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Greatorex, was baptised 19 October 1788 at Blyth, said to be of Hodsock. Christopher had a brother, William, baptised 11 Feb 1798, said to be of Fleetstrop. Christopher married Sarah Laughton at Blyth after banns on 2 September 1811.

Christopher and Sarah had children, Samuel (b 1811), Daniel (b 1819), Elizabeth (b 1824), George (my great great grandfather, born 6 Aug 1826 at Hodsock, Blyth), William (b 1828), Charles (b 1829), Richard (b 1832), and Harriet (born 1835).

George married Jane Lacey, and they had children Sarah, George W., Ann Elizabeth (my great grandmother born 24 October 1861 at Forge Lane, Ecclesall Bierlow which is now part of Sheffield), John H, James C, Mary J, Frederick, and Maria.
