I was born in Wednesbury,West Midlands in 1954.My grandad didn't talk about his background apart from saying that his grandad had been brought from somewhere north of the Midlands on the canal by gypsies! He always spelled his name Greatrix-his first name was Joseph. His siblings were Lydia,Bernard and Len.His mother was Martha Newell, but I don't know his Dad's name.I would like to find out a bit of family history and wonder if there is a connection with the Birmingham Greatrexes. Can you help?
