You're right, I have him baptised, not born, in 1815. I have his parents as John and Elizabeth (possibly Rawthorn) and John's parents being William and Elizabeth (Parker). I found an excellent source of information in the Norfolk Surnames website http://www.fleggisland.co.uk/Greenacre.html which sets out all the Greenacres from the Flegg area, and links to lots of other surnames as well.
My problem is that I seem to have come to a grinding halt with a Charles Greenacre who is at the start of my tree. He was born in Ormesby-St-Margaret in 1779 and and he could have been a child of William and Elizabeth but I have suspicions he might not be for various reasons. If my suspicions are well founded then the 1815 Simon would not be in my line. I do have a Simon born around 1823 in Burgh-St-Margaret, a son of Charles, but he was a wealthy farmer.
Do you have a Charles Greenacre in your tree born at around 1779?
Look forward to hearing from you
