Hi, i'm Jayne Greenacre wife of Tim Greenacre who is the gt.gt.gt.gt.gt.gt.gt grandson of Simon Greenacre of Hickling. We have not really looked at family history for a while but we have looked at the family tree since approx 1992. Tim goes through the William Greenacre bn 1786 in Ormesby St. Margaret to William and Elizabeth nee Parker. We could never find Simon's first wife's surname so Juby is an addition to our tree. I am intrigued by the finding of Simon's birthplace being Hickling as we have never found a record in the parish records. The only birth we could find for a Greenacre around this date was in a small village near Wroxham to a Peter Greenacre, name unknown, a well practised tradition so that the devil didn't take them before they were baptised. We have a database of over 2000 Greenacre entries. We have looked at Charles of Fleggburgh and have yet to fit him into the tree, I thought he could be from the Robert of Potter Heigham branch but was unsure of whether there was enough time after James' birth for Ann to conceive Charles plus have not been able to find entry in Potter Heigham registers. On his marriage to Elizabeth Skoyles the records for St. Nicholas Gt. Yarmouth state he is of Ormesby but he is not the son of William as he would only have been 16! Not impossible but improbable and would probably have taken his mother's maiden name. It is possible he is the illegitimate child of Robert's eldest daughter if she survived to adulthood. Also searched the records of Ludham in case Ann retuned to her birthplace as was commonplace but found nothing. Margaret Greenacre of Australia is related along the Charles line - Maria Elizabeth. William's Simon is one we have not delved into. We have trees for his brothers William, John, Richard, Thomas and Benjamin. Elizabeth we think remained a spinster and we have never followed up Sarah. As far as we know Simon of Hickling had four wives and we have a copy of his will and that of his son and grandson that I have transcribed as they were difficult to read. Hope this makes sense if I can be of anymore help please feel free to contact me. Best Regards Jayne
