Karen:Thanks for your input!!I have those CD's up to 17 and must have totally missed them on CD 15!....Anyway,That Daniel and Wealthy are my ggg.grandparents.Wealthy KELLOGG was born 1807 in Ferrisburgh {Addison} VT and she and Daniel were married in Vergennes, (Addison) VT, unknown date, but probably around 1826-27.We are trying to locate a marriage license for them now.I am sure I am in contact with the person who submitted that info and we connected last march through Lorain Co. OH where his Greeno's remained....Sophronia's sister, CelindaRosing Greenough is my gg. grandmother.I will have to ask Bill if he had submitted that information....if not I will get the address of the originator and write to them!
In the Kellogg's in the Old World and the New by Timothy Hopkins, lists Wealthy Kellogg m. to Danial GRIGNOR [there are no grignor's anywhere, even in Canada!!so we think that is a typo and should be GRIGNON].In a biography about Sophronia's husband's [Gray] family, it also talks about Sophronia's parents, Daniel and Wealthy GREENOUGH.By the time Sophronia and Celinda marry, the marriage record is listed as GREENO, as does Celinda's obit.
The new cousin, Bill, [Sophronia's ggg.grandson] states that his father told him that he had French connections and the family originally came to USA from Quebec!---Grignon is the french version [as it is said, not as it is spelled!] for Greenough, ie: Gren' yon with the n sort of lost at the end.
Rutland VT sounds familiar to me but can't quite put my finger on it yet.Seems to me some of the Kelloggs might have been from that area.I will keep an eye pealed for your family, but maybe looking into the Grignon's might be helpful?who knows!
