Hi my name is andrew greenough and I come form Lancashire.....Thomas is a family name and the family came form Parr in St Helens....My Great Great Grandfather sank the shafts for the coal mines and his son was the colliery engineer at Gibfield Colliery Howe Bridge Atherton Lancashire....In the Pretoria pit disaster in 1910 he was in the first cage lowered into the mine --he got a medal for this.....I think the total number of dead ws about 600
