I see from your previous posts here that you do trace from Daniel of Rutland back to Robert of Rowley.
The documentation on the two William Greenough's I cited from Savage's Early Settlers of New England makes it seem very unlikely that Robert was a child of either William. His likely birthdate (judging from marriage date) would seem to fit well with the elder William's 1652 marriage to Elizabeth Upshall but Savage is conclusive that the elder William had no male heirs who survived him. The children of the younger cousin William (m. Ruth Swift in 1660) also are seemingly thoroughly documented by Savage and do not include a Robert.
