We know that my g-grandfather, Alexander was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, circa 1820. He was first married to Mary Frame at Quincy, Illinois in 1845, and Mary Magdaline Wildermuth on Nov.10, 1848 in Layfayette Co., Wisconsin. He had several children by his first wife and three with my gr.grandmother, Mary M.. Their second son was named Alexander Edward. This led me to believe he was related to desendants of Thomas greenough of Boston because Thomas's Daughter married an Alexander Edwards. The in-laws must have respected him a lot because several children of that family were named after him. When Gr-gr Alexander was in Quincy, Illinois there were several of Thomas Greenough's desendants living there also, but we can't find the connection. The information that he was born in Wisconsin came from census info. given by my Grandpa Alex. We can find no Greenoughs in Green Bay, but can find Grignons. My father's wedding license says he is part French, but we don't know from where. HELP! He is such a mystery man. Thank you.
