Greenslade update

G'day from Australia. I have just begun browing this site and thought the following may interest some.
This is from my paternal side:

Family motto - "Fidus et audax"
Translation - "Faithful and Bold"
Origin of name - green valley or glade between woodlands. A place in North Taunton, Devon. A topographic name for someone who lived near a fertile valley.
From OE Grene - Green & Sloed - valley dwell,
Grenesloed - "Dweller in the green valley"

My grandfather was Walter John DOB: 30th November 1901
DOD: July 1984. He married Gwalyds Anne Thomas 1921, in Pwllgwaun, Wales. This side of the family is from Exmor and occupation Horse dealing gypsies, no wonder we can't stop moving. I am currently waiting on more information from U.K as the rest of our family still lives in Wales, England and Scotland.

Janet
