An additional note:

If Benjamin is her father I find it more likely that the mother is Sarah Roberts.

Mary was born 1782, Benjamin m. Mary Cash Oct 8, 1786 according to Benjamin's Rev war pension file making Mary Cash an unlikely mother for Mary b. 1782.

However, in Maryland records there is a marriage of Benjamin GREETREE to Sarah ROBERTS May 16, 1782 Prince Georges Co.

This makes me think that if Benjamin is her father, her mother would be Sarah Roberts.

Also, have seen somewhere that Mary GREENTREE m Edward WIGGINS was native american. I have nothing to base this on except an email query from someone wanting her tribal affiliation <G>

Benjamin supposedly was born at sea while his mother at least was enroute from England to America. Suggesting that if there is a Native American connection it would be Sarah Roberts.

Hope this helps.
