Jane Greeville or Greville, 19th century, Ireland
According to an old hand-written Family Tree, my great great grandparents were Jane Greeville and John Rodger who married June 29th 1833 and had five sons: John, Robert, Matthew, William and Richard. The eldest, John, was my great grandfather, and in his memoirs stated he was born in Ireland: as we have been unable to find his parents' marriage, we assume they were married in Ireland, and that Jane was Irish. As we have not been able to find the surname Greeville anywhere, we also assume Jane's name was actually Greville.
My great grandfather migrated to Victoria, Australia in 1852, and we know all his descendants. However, we have to date been unable to find any of his siblings or their descendants. The Rodger family originated in Renfrewshire, Scotland, and we have John (senior)'s parents marriage from the Scotlandspeople site, together with the births of his three older siblings; however, have been unable to find his birth (9th December 1805) or the births of his two younger siblings, so assume his parents moved to Ireland and they were born there.
Can anyone help, particularly with Jane Greeville/Greville?
Regards,
Patricia.
