When I made the suggestion that the Caleb the original poster was talking about, I was using the statements he made re Rev Robert Greville (who I show as b1760 & d 1830-1834) in his original posting. Where he referred to a Rev Robert Greville who married Dorothy Challoner.
From online Church of England 'Ministers list':
This Robert wasRev Robert Greville and the Foster son of a Caleb Greville.
This Rev Robert Greville was (also) of St George's Hanover Sq, London, gent; CHRIST CHURCH m 13/7/1779 aged 19; BA 1783, PEMBROKE BCL 1794
1789 Appt(Institution) Greville, Robert/Edlaston/ Rector
1795 Appt(Institution) Greville, Robert / Bontishall /Rector
1814 Appt(Licensing) Greville, Robert / Osmaston chapelry /Stipendiary Curate
1814 Appt(Licensing) Greville, Robert /Yeaveley chapelry /Stipendiary Curate
1816 Appt(Licensing) Greville, Robert/ Cubley / Marston Montgomery chapelry Stipendiary Curate
1823 Appt(Licensing) Greville, Robert/ Somershall Herbert /Stipendiary Curate
1827 Vac(cession) Greville, Robert / Bonteshall alias Bonsall /Rector
1830 Vac(Death) Greville, Robert/ Edlaston /Rector.

Thus working back from what the original poster stated in his posting, from (Rev) Robert, his foster father being a Caleb who was the son of Lord George Greville, then what I posted fits.
NOW whether in fact this is the actual Caleb of whom he is talking about, is another matter. That is what the discussion is trying to ascertain as to which Caleb is in fact the one he is talking about.
There is more than one Caleb in the Greville family, and as Christopher Ascroft has already stated, there was also one in Australia (1860 - 1935)[Two Australian Calebs actually, and both in South Australia, the other one born & dying in 1993]
There maybe also other Caleb's which I dont have in my database. So it was a name used in the Greville (who tie into the Warwick lines)family.
As to being a contemporary in terms of age or not, would depend upon what age the actual Caleb the original poster is talking about, as I see no dates other than the tie into the Rev Robert Greville, which would fit the Caleb deceased St. George Hanover Sq, Middlesex, Eng. in 1803, so not sure what youbase your statement upon.
Other things in your reply ie William and Meliora southwell were made by others not me. I personally dont see any Caleb tying into That William and Meliora in their date time or era.
Also, I am not sure where you got your "Church clerk" statement from, can you elucidate?
I guess if the original poster got the Will as he was intimating he would do, this would answer the question as to who the Caleb of the Will, and apparently like I said of St George Hanover Sq., was.
