GRIDER/GUIDER/GRYDER Tn., KY., Ill., Al., Va.
In 1846 Joseph GRIDER married Ann Eliza TUCK in Blount Co., Tennessee.I haven't seen thr orignal marriage record BUT all the records I find on the internet has the last name spelled GRIDER.In the 1850 Blount County Census it is spelled GUIDER, 1860 the name is spelled GIDER and then it goes back to GUIDER.On Joseph's discharge it has it spelled three different ways.
Francis Marion (Frank) GRIDER is Joseph and Ann Eliza TUCK GRIDER's son.He was first married to Kate Odon/ODEM/ODEN in Blount County, Tn.When she dies I don't know where he goes.He comes to Jackson County, Al. and marries martha Louisa GOLD.In the 1920 Jackson County Census he says he was born in Ill.Does he mean he came to jackson County from Ill.Where was he from the time his first wife died and when he married his second wife?I think he just left his two other children to fend for themselves in Blount County where some of his family took them in from time to time.
Deed any help or hints you can give.
