I emigrated to Australia in 1987 at the age of 25. I was brought up in Yorkshire. My farthers parents, Arthur & Nora, moved down to Yorkshire from Durham in about 1910 to find work in the coal mines. It would appear that many of the Grieveson's originally came from Bishopwearmouth in County Durham.
I got started on the genealogy thing because I recieved a letter from a Mrs Jenny Turner
who was looking for information on the Grieveson family. She was in County Durham and her Mothers name was Isobel and her Grandfathers name was John.
