I'm descended from George & Eleanor Grieveson of Swalwell - now part of Gateshead. George was a keelman ( waterman)on the river. They did have a son Robert bap. in 1770. Grievesons seem to have left Swalwell sometime during the early 1800's, where they moved to, I don't know.
I live locally, so intend to try to find out their movements.
