Please contact me directly. There is a possibility that you may descend from Isham Griffin b. ca 1785 and Mary Ford (some of their children spelled their name Griffing) and Isham's sister, Lucy Griffin b. ca 1790 married Asa Mercer. They lived in the Adams County area of Miss. This is a long shot, but I have other contacts in that line who may be able to help. My connection is Young Ferdninand "YF" Griffin, my grgr grandfather who was the brother of Isham and Lucy Griffin. I am also connected to the GRIFFING family of Miss. from LI, NY and Wales, so maybe I can help there also. These were two separate and distinct families.
