Jabish "Jabe" N. Griffing, b. 1815 near Hamburg, Franklin, MS and d. Aft 1889 Winnsboro, LA was the second son of John and Sarah Griffing. Jabe married Mary Ann Harrison on 23 Mar 1837 in Jefferson Co., MS. They had at least 6 children. Mary Ann died on 17 Dec 1849 in Claiborne Co., MS and she was buried in the Harrison Cemetery in Jefferson County, MS. After his wife's death Jabe moved to the Winnsboro area in Louisana and there met and married Mary Jane P. (maiden name unknown). She was born in Virginia in 1830 and died after 1880 in Winnsboro. Jabe was a younger brother of my ancestor Jonathan Griffing. Wish I knew what the genealogy information gave out happened to say as it might have solved the mystry of the connection of his father, John Griffing, to the Jasper Griffing line.
