John C. and Mary R. Griffin or Griffing, Jamesport NY

Mary R. Griffin(g) was reported in the local newspaper to have died in Jamesport NY in 1899. She is stated to be the wife of Captain John Griffing of Jamesport. I have found this couple on the 1860 census in Jamesport as John C. and Mary R. Griffin, and in Brooklyn (Williamsburg) in 1850 as John C. and Mary R. Griffing. John C. is listed as being born at approx. 1815. John C. is also listed in 1840 in Brooklyn. If anyone has any further information about this couple or knows where they are buried, (I am assuming that they are buried in the Jamesport area), I would appreciate a contact. If they are members of the family that I think they are, they were probably Methodists.
