George & "Triff" (Tryphena) GRIFFITHS are of interest to me as they witnessed my ancestors' wedding, and may have been relatives. George GRIFFITHS, son of George GRIFFITHS, was born in 1864 in Peckham, Surrey (now London). Both were "Slater" by trade. George married Tryphena HUDSON in 1888 in Southwark, Surrey (now London). Their children were George, Harry, Ida, Albert, Ethel, Ernest, and Edith. The family home was in Greenwich, Kent (now London), at 35 Collerston Road. George and Triff witnessed the wedding of my ancestors Lily WHEELER DAVIES to Charles Ernest RODWAY, in Greenwich in 1919. Lily & Charles' daughter was later a "nurse" (caregiver) to George. It is possible that the RODWAYs and GRIFFITHS families were related. I have found an IGI entry of marriage: James RODWAY to Mary GRIFFITHS in 1807 in Shoreditch, London, but have not yet confirmd that this couple is related to my Charles RODWAY. Any descendants researching this GRIFFITHS family, please contact me by email at address given for my name above. --Jane Notify Administrator about this message?
