Bit of a mystery this Jacob/Joseph Grigg andhis wife Mary.
I looked at references to Lydia and Deliverance but did not find any likely candidates.
GRIGG origins in England, as opposed to other variations, are centred around the south west counties of Cornwall and Devon, Somerset and to a lesser extent Dorset, Hampshire and other southern counties.
At this time Devon supplied many of the seamen for the ships to the American colonies so he may have been one of these.Cornwall, on the other hand had the largest number of GRIGG families, so keep looking for clues as to where they may have come from.
The database is approaching 19,000 GRIGG individuals with having family origins in the south west of England.
Keep in touch
Terry Grigg
