I have a picture of a family reunion in Cassville, Wisconsin prior to 1915 (judging by how old my father appears to be). An article from a local (unknown) newspaper follows:
"The Grimms and their relatives, thirty-six in all, had a picnic supper at Riverside park Sunday. There were the Cassville Grimms--Aloys; Frank H., wife, Robert and Francis; Mrs. Phil C. and Hazel; Chas. I., wife and Helen; Ralph and wife; Ben, wife, Marvel, Elizabeth and Herman; Wm. H., wife, Thelma and Wm. Jr.; and Mrs. Etta Grimm Duncan. From way off were Judge J. Hugo Grimm, wife and son Hadley of St. Louis, Mo.; G. A. Grimm of Dubuque; Harry Robinson, wife, and Harry Jr. of Platteville, and Mr. Robinson's brother-in-law Dr. Yaekel, wife, son and daughter of Chicago; Geo, W. Barrows and wife of Lancaster. To the ties of relationship are added the bonds of friendship since this gathering of the clan. This meeting in the historic town of Cassville, where the Grimms have figured largely in business enterprises and social life, will be remembered with pleasure by the participants."
I know that at least some of the Grimms at that family picnic were born in Coblence, as was my great-grandfather. (My great-grandfather was not at the picnic because he died prior to 1910, but my father and grandfather were there.)
I'd love it if anyone who thinks they're related to any of these people would respond so we can compare notes.
