I think I can help you re your Grimwood ancestors. The Henry who married Elizabeth was bapt.29 Apr.1827 at All Saints, Semer, Suffolk. He was one of the children of William Grimwood(Senr.) married Mary Bowers at All Saints, Semer on 30 Nov 1819. In Sept.1836 William and Mary and six of their children, including Henry, moved to Lancashire under a Government scheme. Wm.and his sons were under contract to Sir William Hulton to work in his coal mines. One of his sons, my own Gt.Grandfather, John Grimwood (aged 7 yrs.) was also included and received 2/6 per week, the older boys got 10/-(ten shillings)per week. Henry later lived at Bromilow's Houses, Little Hulton. He and Elizabeth had five sons and three daughters. The William you mentioned was born in June 1861 and on 4 Sept.1880 was married at St.Mary's Church, Deane, Lancs.to Elizabeth Smith aged 21 yrs. He was working as a coalminer at the time and they lived at Smithers Lane, at Little or Middle Hulton. I have no further information on William.I am also very interested in the Grimwood family and have lots of other information on the Semer branch of the family.
