Hello Amy & Pat,
You certainly have names connected to my lines. My Henson & Spencer g.grands are from Frogtown,Lumpkin and Union Co. GA and many generations before them. I am mainly a Henson researcher but look for all lines connecting.
I am interested in your Grindle lines from that area. I'm searching for family of James Grindle and Rachel Henson both lived Pickens Co SC. I know a James Grindle came to GA from SC but not sure he is right one or possibly a son.I have a document dated 1836 which mentions this couple and she is daughter of one James Henson of Pickens Co. Other family members of James leaving SC to GA & TN include Robert Taylor & wife Nancy Henson, Walter Billingley & wife Susanna Henson, Joseph & Charles Henson. Clayborn & his wife Diliah Henson and Elijah Leathers & his wife Melinda Henson stayed in SC. Thanks for any help with the Grindle's. The name Grindle is often spelled Grindal in some records. Also see you are from Lula, have you ever heard of the old Henson place there? I'm told my g.gm lived there at one time. Your McAlister name is interesting as have always thought the above James Henson may have been the one married to Catharine McAlister/McCalister. Thanks for any leads on the Grindle's.
