YES ! That was my uncle Dave. This is GREAT. And now my sister knows where her middle name came from. My sister who is a nun at the Monastery of St. Benedict in Canyon, Texas, was thrilled to hear this this morning. She also states that while she was living in Fredricksburg, Texas there were literally hundreds of Grobes there although they pronounced the last name with a "hard" E at the end. With some relatives in Harris County, Texas (which is the Houston area) it stands to reason that we are all somehow related! Houston and Fredricksburg(just northwest of Houston) are very close and the German communities are HUGE ! I discovered this site by accident while trying to find out the name of the cemetary in Spokane, where my relatives are buried. Oh yeah, besides Uncle Dave, there was my Dad, Lloyd, a sister, Edith and I believe another sister, Jess. I believe they were all born in Ymir as I believe Dad was the youngest.
