I also have ancestors with the name Gröger from Austrian Silesia. My gr.grandmother, Hedwig Gröger was born in 1883 in Engelsberg, Silesia, Austria. I believe that Engelsberg is now located in the Czech Republic and goes by the name of Andelska Hora. Her parents were Adalbert Gröger and Zenobia Zytler. She came to the U.S. in 1905 on board the Pannonia. The ship sailed from the Hungarian port of Fiume. She had a sister, Anna, and I believe a brother. Unfortunately, I don't know anything else about this family in Austria. It is interesting though that all three of us have ancestors with the same name from the same area.
