Henry C Gross b1851 Germany- Quincy, IL 1880 Census

Henry C Gross b1851 is the first Gross in my line off the boat from Germany. 1880 census has him in Quincy (Adams)Illinois married to Margarette ______ . I'm looking for her last name. She was born in Illinois in 1852 and her parents were French. It's possible that her maiden name was Goodapple as there's a Henry C living next door with his wife 'Lizzie' to George and Margaret Goodapple in the 1870 census. The Goodapples had immigrated from France, are the right age and families often lived one door down. Any help would be appreciated.
