I read with interest the postings about Jacob and his daughter Katherine. I am descended from Jacob's son William. Several cousins have traced the Grotts line (as it began to be spelled sometime in the early to mid 1800s) through the present--exhaustive! Anyway, I'd like to know what you know! I know A bit about Jacob and his wife Mary Bull. They were reportedly married in Pittsubrgh in 1776 and came to IL in 1781 with Geo Rodgers Clark, settling at Piggott's Fort near the Mississippi River north of St. Louis. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you.
