IDEN AND EMMA’S LIFE TOGETHER
On 30 September 1893 Emma PAFF and Iden Monroe HITTLE were joined in marriage by John
BURKHART, a Justice of the Peace. The marriage took place in Three Oaks, Michigan. Clarence
HITTLE and Mary PAFF were witnesses of the marriage. Emma was just fifteen and Iden was only
seventeen years old at that time.
Iden and Emma had fifteen children:

LOTTIE VIOLA HITTLE
Lottie Viola HITTLE (Lottie, Iden) was born 6 September 1894 in Michigan City, La Porte County,
Indiana. She married William GRUHLKE on 24 September 1910. Lottie died 13 April 1955 in Ogema,
Price County, Wisconsin, and she is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana.
William GRUHLKE, husband of Lottie HITTLE, was born 8 November 1880, and he died 30 April 1964
at Rib Lake, Taylor County, Wisconsin. He is buried beside Lottie in Elmwood Cemetery.
Lottie and William had five children:

Dorothy Viola GRUHLKE b. 2/21/1913 m. Thomas DAVICH
Bennard GRUHLKE b. 9/3/1914 m. 1) Maude (?)
