grundy
I have just been on the archives for Grundy and notice that there aresomeGrundys connected to Darcy Lever. At the moment a have a very big brick wall Alice Grundy. Born around 1791[ according to burial details she was 49when she was buried in February 1841 at Deane].She married William Livesey at Wigan Parish Church ,Lancashire where it stated on records both of Aspull.William was a farmerpossibly moving to Hindley and then onto Rumworth from about 1821 until they both died in 1841.Their firstborn was Ellen born 1812 daughter of William and Alice showing Alice’s parents as Robert and Betty .Other children were John, Robert,James,William, Hezikiah Margaret and Alice. All the names are carried through but the Hezikiah although carried through doesn’t come from the Liveseys and I am wondering whether it is a Grundy name.On the will of William a Robert Grundy ,engineer from Great Bolton is the executor,I have traced Robert later farming in Aspull/Hindley and then owning a cotton mill in Hindley Green but as yet cannot definitely connect him to Alice.I had wondered if Alice’s father was the son of Ralph and Elineor from Aspull/ Blackrod and I had wondered if he had married Betty Seddon. I was just wondering if any of the names are familiar to the forum.Any info much appreciated.
