My father did extensive research on our heritage, In it he found that our ancestor Aaron Greenwald born in Lahigh, Pennsylvania, may have been the first Union army volunteer. I have many good articles including a color article from the civil war times with pictures of him and telling all sorts of information about him and his family. I even have a copy of the letter to his wife from friends. And a retype of a letter Aaron wrote to a friend while he was in the field. It tells how he died what battles he was in has pictures of the monument in anoka county that states he and 5 other volunteers where the first to answer lincolns call to war. It's all good stuff if you are stuck on finding info on Aaron Just write me and I will tell you what I know. I can't type all of this stuff but I would be more than glade to discuss it over the phone. My email is tvsaint@knology.net or work is dgreenawalt@qualisyscomm.net please send to either one but if you send to second one also send it to the first. Dennis Greenawalt. Good Luck
