Louis Grunewald 1900 New Orleans Louisiana

I am looking for information on my family tree. The first in my family in the United States was Louis Grunewald (my great great grandfather) who moved to New Orleans and lived there from the middle 1800s to early 1900s. Information that either leads to or from him would be appreciated. Information about where to look, would also be appreciated.

Please forgive me, as I am a total newbie. I found this site from searching for information on the "Grunewald family." Uncharacteristically, I have not even lurked on this site yet. So if I am in the wrong place, a gentle reminder and a point in the right direction, if it is known, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Grunewald
