Walter,
How are you!? Ray Gryder, II here. I can help clarify for you.
The message you replied to referred to a Mary Grider, not Nancy Grider/Gryder. The Nancy Grider you're probably thinking of was a spinster (unmarried) youngest sister to John H. Gryder, Sr. (who married Nancy Gibbs). Nancy Grider was b. abt 1800. In later years she lived with the family of David T. Warren. Nancy was his Aunt. David was s/o Hugh Warren & Catherine Grider (Catherine being Nancy's older sister). Nancy apparently kept many odds and ends pertaining to her father Conrad Grider. Back in August of 2000 a Mr. Harlan Bowman donated to the Alexander Co., NC Ancestry Assoc. a box of notes and letters that had belonged at one time to Nancy Grider.
Get in touch Walter! Been a while since we corresponded.
