Gubbins in Peru

Enrique,

I found this in my archives - an extract from a letter written in 1885 by Richard Dartnell in Callao to his sister in Ireland.

"Mrs Wells, her sister Alice & Mrs Evans with all her peculiar faults are about the only decent people, for Mrs Gubbins, though a real lady is seldom heard of."

I presume you must be descended from her.

I can remember my great aunt, who was born in Peru talking about the Gubbins family, but I cannot remember what.

I see that you have a Russell in your family. You don't know anything about that family, do you?
