Iam very interestd in the Stuart-Young connection in Western NC. I have a William and John Young selling land to one of my Stuarts in Buncombe County, Nc 1810. I have heard that John Young, born in Ireland came possibly from MD. to Western Nc in the 1730's, he married a Stuart, her name may have been Martha, and that she came with brothers, one of these Stuarts was named Nathaniel. My Stuarts are found in Surry County, Nc 1774, Nathaniel Stuart, son of John Stuart born 1728 died 1806. Nathaniel moved to Greenville, Sc in 1800 and moved to Buncombe by the 1810 census. Thsi Stuart family intermarried with the Prather/Prater, Ray, Brittain families of Western NC. If any of this rings a bell for someone out there, I would like to get in touch with them..
