So glad to see that most of the Gudger researchers are talking mostly about Buncombe Co. N.C.
I have been to Ashville a couple of times with a friend, that was researching her Shelton & Chandler lines. Had no idea that my husband`s Moore & Rutherford [ just found that he directly descend from Gen.Griffith Rutherford] lines were in that area. Recently run across, a article, "The State of Buncombe" 1776 to 1800.It mentions a Judge Owen Gudger, county historian, that grew up in Hominy Valley, wrote a unpublished manuscript. Would any of you know anything about this manuscript?As far as I know my husband doesn`t have a Gudger connection, but who knows, he still has a lot of unidentified gggrandmothers.
