William Gudger Question

My family is from Mary Ann Gudger Jones and William Hanes Jones. But I need info on the below information....

I have a transcription of a newspaper article written by Judge James Cassius Love Gudger, son of Samuel Bell Gudger. Anyway the article tells of an Indian attack that occured on the Potomac River in present day Washington, D.C. The article tells of the heroics of William and his wife Martha saving the villagers from the horrorific midnight attack. Besides the interest of the article it also mentions that William and Martha Gudger had ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls but everything I have and everything I've read ony mentions of eight children. If anybody has any information please let me know. Thank you!!
