Hi Jenna,

Within the past 2 yrs. I have made excellent progress with my "Guerreri" ancestry. I've discovered that their name was officially recorded on Sciacca church records as "GUIRRERI" & "CURRERI". My GGreatGrandfther, Francesco GUIRRERI was b. on 8 Jan 1833, and was the son of Antonino GUIRRERI (b. abt. 1792) & Filippa BELLONI (or BILLERA, b. 1794). My GGGF m. Caterina MARINO (b. abt. 1835/36), on 14 Nov 1858, Sciacca, Agrigento, Sicily. Caterina was the daughter of Calogero MARINO & Calogera SOLDANO. Caterina & Francesco had 6 children, of which only latter 4 survived into adulthood. They were: Antonino (Nov 1859-Dec 1860), Filippa (Dec 1861-Dec 1861), Calogera (1864 -), Providenza (1869-1961-my Great Grandmother), Antonino (1874 -), Calogero (1876 -).
If you would like to find out more about your Sicilian roots, I would suggest looking under the "CURRERI" & GUIRRERI" spellings.

Best Regards,
Diana Sclafani
