Herman is mention in the book the Cory Story. It only mentions that he married Rachel Grace Swearingin. It does have a page about the Swearingen family. It says the Swearingen family was a descendants of Gerrit Van Swearingen (1636-1698), the son of a family of nobility in Reenstnerdam, Holland. The book is available to purchase from the Clay County Genealogical Society, Center Point, In
