Do we share a Minced Meat recipe or Cream Pie?
The holiday makes us think more of family and while making the Minced Meat recipe inherited from my mother-in-law I noticed it had come to her from "Grandma Cooper".I started wondering if this had been handed down from the Gunder side of the family or the Burchfield side of the family.The Minced Meat recipe contains chopped beef, suet, apples, plumped raisins, molasses, sugar, "1 qt. cider boiled down to 1 cup", vinegar, cinnamon, salt, cloves, and allspice.I also have a Cream Pie recipe that also descended from "Grandma Cooper".Thought it would be interesting to see if I could find where either one originated and which family might also be continuing the traditional recipes.
