Morrill GUPTILL; bn., abt. 1800 somewhere in Maine or in the Northeastern part of the country. Married: a woman by the name of Maria ?; had several children, one child named Elizabeth E., bn., abt. 1836 - 1839. Elizabeth E., married in 1859 - 1860 a man by the name of Edward Franklin BACHELDER. Had one child together by the name of Edward Rishworth BACHELDER; Elizabeth became a widow in 1864 during the civil war. The only other clue to what happened to her after her husband Edward died is, a filing for a pension by her in 1870. Giving as guardian of Elizabeth's property at that time was a man by the name of MILLIKEN. I have it that when Edward died, a male relative or guardian was appointed to manage or take care of financial issues for women. If anyone has any more clues as to what happened to Elizabeth E. GUPTILL and the single heir Edward Rishworth BACHELDER, please e-mail me, to the addy below. Thank you, Shelia C. BACHELDER webachel@wolf.co.net
