Hi Mike, Thank you for your followup on my question. I've really intensified my search for Daniel and family and today found that Daniel and Matilda are listed in the 1850 Hanover Twnsp., Cook, County, IL Census. Their name was spelled "Gupdale". In all my research, I've never come across so many spellings of a name (Guptail/Gubtail/Guptel, etc.). Their daughter Ortensia is not listed, since she had married by this time. Humphrey Guptail and Rosanna "Matilda" Guptail are buried in the Little Woods Cemetery in St. Charles, IL. Rosanna's gravestone notes that she was wife of Dan Guptail and died 5/21/1855. Question - Is there a church in the Perrysburg area they may have been members of? I believe they may have been Methodist. Hoping there may be a record of the family at a church in the area. Daniel appears in the Elgin area in 1836. Thank you again for taking the time to help me out. We'll be in the Dover, NH area in June and I hope to find more info there.
