St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, Dec. 11, 1903:
Daniel Guptill, aged 98 years, perhaps the oldest resident in Kane county, celebrated his birthday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tennant, in Elgin. The aged man enjoys fair health and does not wear spectacles.
