When Lubec, Washington County ME (the easternmost point of the US)was formed in 1811 the census showed 3 Guptill families: Robert and Anna Guptail and their 2 children (Phylotia and Barbara) John and Mary Guptail and their 8 children (Sarah, Nathaniel, Polly, Meribah, Eliza, Elmira, Philotia (my ancestor) and Lovita) Thomas and Elizabeth Guptail and their son Nehemiah If you would like additional information on this family please let me know.
