Thanks for the response. I live very close to the Northern Neck(actually used to work in that area) and was aware that the Gupton family was there in the early years of their migration to the New World.

My husband is actually related to William Gupton through his son William and his son Stephen. A branch ended up on his maternal grandfather's family and another on his maternal grandmother's side.

As things turned out, he now lives about 30 miles from where his ancestors settled.
