I appreciate your reply, Sharon, and will fill you in on what I do know and what I don't know about my greatgrandfather, NICHOLAS ORIL GUSS. I have found information stating that he was born ABOUT 1846 in BAVARIA and died on August 4, 1921 in the Coast District of British Columbia, Canada. On July 14, 1867, he married EMILY (Emma) COOPER, daughter of JOHN JR. COOPER and SARAH OSBORNE. EMILY COOPER was born about 1850 in Jasper County, Indiana and died on May 20, 1918, in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. EMILY COOPER's father, JOHN JR. COOPER, was born on September 2, 1812 in Guilford County, N.C. and died on March 25, 1887 in Barkley Twp, Jasper County, Indiana. His wife SARAH OSBORNE, whom he married on October 25, 1832, was born on September 14, 1810 in Kentucky and died on September 2, 1885 in Barkley Twp, Jasper County, Indiana. Now here is where I need some information and I don't know where to find it.
My own grandfather, also named NICHOLAS GUSS, was born in 1883 but I don't know where. I also do not know what siblings he had. He died in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada in 1928. He married LENA ENGSTROM but I do not know what the date was. I believe that they married in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born in 1885 and died in 1941 in Drumheller, Alberta. She may have been born in Sweden but I am not sure. If she was not born in Sweden, then her parents were. I would appreciate any help that you may be able to give me, Sharon, as to where and how I would find the information that I am missing. Once again, many thanks for your reply!
